🌸 About Our Founder & Director – Fontashia Johnson, MBA, M.Ed.Â
Known affectionately as the “Love Ambassador,” Fontashia Johnson lives by the motto “Mind, Body, Love & Connection.” She believes that LOVE is at the heart of who we are and everything we do as humans—a philosophy that inspires the mission and culture of Love Blooms Academy.
Fontashia is a lifelong learner and visionary educator who has dedicated her career to creating nurturing, inclusive, and mindful learning environments for children and families. She earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), a Master’s Degree in Education from Regent University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Norfolk State University. She is also a licensed North Carolina educator with more than a decade of experience serving in K–12 public schools, Title I programs, and alternative education settings.
Her professional journey began in banking and management, but her passion for service and education led her to found FACTS: Financial Awareness, Counseling & Teaching Services, a North Carolina–based nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved communities through financial literacy, wellness, and mindfulness education. She is also the Owner of FACTS Wellness & Retreat Center, a holistic space devoted to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit through wellness practices, self-care experiences, and restorative retreats that promote whole-body healing and connection.Â
Fontashia is a Mindful Schools Certified Educator, MBSR-certified practitioner, Somatic Practitioner, Yoga Instructor, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Sound Healer, Financial Literacy Coach, Wellness Coach, and Business Educator. She has facilitated professional development and wellness programs for schools, nonprofits, and community organizations, integrating mindfulness, social-emotional learning, and restorative practices into her teaching approach.
Throughout her educational career, she has served in multiple impactful roles—including Business Education Teacher, Career Development Coordinator, Parent Facilitator, and Restorative Justice Teacher. As a co-creator of Mindfulness with People of Color (BIPOC) and a founding member of Collectively Mindful, she continues to support educators and leaders in fostering spaces of equity, inclusion, and emotional well-being.
Beyond the classroom, Fontashia is a retreat planner, facilitator, and speaker who has hosted transformative gatherings for over a decade. Through her retreats, she creates opportunities for individuals and groups to rest, reflect, and renew, offering tailored experiences for corporate teams, nonprofits, and faith-based communities.
At her core, Fontashia is guided by faith, family, and purpose. A devoted mother of four (including her Yorkie, Poodle, & Yorkipoos), she embraces mindfulness as a way of life—finding joy in being fully present, cultivating gratitude, and living in alignment with love and abundance.
When she’s not serving others, Fontashia enjoys traveling, cooking, listening to music, and dancing—celebrating every moment as an opportunity to love, learn, and grow.
🌸 About Our Assistant Director & Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher – Jateya Joint
Ms. Jateya Joint is a passionate and purpose-driven educator whose heart for teaching reflects the core values of Love Blooms Academy—love, mindfulness, and connection. A proud Fayetteville native, she brings over two decades of experience serving children, families, and school communities with compassion, commitment, and care.
With a strong foundation in instructional support, classroom management, and student engagement, Jateya has built a reputation as a dependable and nurturing presence in every learning space she enters. Before joining Love Blooms Academy, she served as an Educator and certified school bus driver, where she was celebrated for her adaptability, leadership, and dedication to each child’s success—whether in the classroom or on the road.
Now serving as Assistant Director & Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher at Love Blooms Academy, Jateya continues to embody her belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and supported as a whole person. She is currently pursuing a Dual Licensure Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K–6) and Special Education (Mild to Moderate, K–12) at Western Governors University, expanding her expertise in individualized instruction, ELA, and Math to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
A graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College with an Associate of Arts in Teacher Preparation, Jateya also brings 24 years of hands-on experience mentoring youth, coordinating school events, and leading community outreach through her church and local organizations. Her educational philosophy is simple but profound: every student is teachable, every moment is meaningful, and every classroom can be a place of love, healing, and hope.
At Love Blooms Academy, Ms. Joint’s presence reminds us daily that when teaching comes from the heart—students bloom beautifully. 🌿
